POE ONVIF compatible doorbell with WiFi/poe chimes

It looks great, but crazy expensive. Who can justify paying £800+ on a doorbell. Many people don't even spend that on their entire CCTV system. Thanks for sharing though

2017 Dahua Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE), ePoE, NEW!

It looks like something, in the bottom left corner of the camera, is reflecting the IR light back into the camera. This could be what's making the image so dark except in that corner? Try repositioning the camera so it has a clear view, and see if that resolves the issue?

    Water damaged connector, fixed. Dahua

Just sharing in case it helps others. How I broke my IPC-HDW5231R-Z I decided I wanted more cameras after running a single cable to the side of my home, so I followed the cliff notes idea of using a POE powered switch. The POE switch was housed in an "off the shelf" waterproof enclosure...

.dav file from dahua NVR no sound when uploaded to YouTube?

Thanks I've discovered that if I save the video to my android phone (lg g6) and then upload it to YouTube from the phone, I get sound. Maybe the app saves it as MP4 when downloading to phones. Eitherway I hope this might help others. Incase I want to share from the NVR, in the future, can...

.dav file from dahua NVR no sound when uploaded to YouTube?

Hi, I want to post a recording to my YouTube account. When I down the file from my dahua NVR and play on PC it works with sound. When I download the video to my phone, it works with sound. However when I upload the .dav file to YouTube it doesn't have sound. What's the best way to get sound...

POE ONVIF compatible doorbell with WiFi/poe chimes

Sadly no. I'm hoping Nest will release a Poe version of the Hello, as I have Nest thermostat and Nest Hubs. In the meantime I'm using a wireless dumb doorbell. It reaches the home office which is detached from the house, so I don't miss deliveries when in the office anymore. It's a solution...

POE ONVIF compatible doorbell with WiFi/poe chimes

Hi all, I want a Poe doorbell for greater reliability, and so I don't have to hire an electrician to change the doorbell transformer. I want it to connect to my NVR and record either 24/7, or just when a person comes to the door. I want the bell to connect to my phone and inform me when it is...

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 / NVR5216-16P-4KS2

The variation will be different between apps and phones. Without the hardware and software being perfectly tuned to each other it's only a guesstimate. It was accurate for me to see if the new fan made an improvement. Admittedly it doesn't give an accurate estimate to the amount it has...

Here is my noise comparison video. Im sure its a far from perfect comparison, but it atleast gives some idea of the noise... As these are more commercial units, they are probably designed to be installed in a business server/data cabinet somewhere rather than a front room, so noise probably...

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

Hi Steve, Sorry to hear the issue affects you too, but at least I know it's not just me. I've added the new fan and speed reducer cable, cost me a total of £15 and about 2 hours of my time, (I had a few snags and had to find tools) a more competent DIYer could do it in under an hour...

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

Thanks all for your replies. It's good to know it is normal for the fan to continue after the NVR has "Shut Down" I don't believe a PSU would need to run the fan for any longer than a few seconds after powering anything down. If there's no power the device would cool down naturally soon...

That makes sense, thanks. After shutting down I couldn't find anyway to turn it back on, without physically turning it off and back on again at the switch. How are you suppose to turn it back or remotely, or on site even?

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

I have a possibly related question: I shut the NVR off via software, and even with the cameras and NVR all off, the fan still continues to spin and at the same noise level. Is it normal for the fan to keep spinning after shutting the NVR down? The only way to stop the fan is to physically...

Fitting the fan to the outside of the PSU is an interesting idea, I don't think it will look right thight. I'll see how it is after I fit the replacement fan.

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

The PSU fan only has a small gap to squeeze in. I would have like to use a Noctua quiet fan, but they are 25mm thick and the PSU can only take around 18mm so I'm stuck with 15mm thick fans. I guess the thicker fan is why Noctua are so quiet Here is the gap I have to work with... I've...

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

Thank you for that. I thought the smart settings would only do the case fan, the case fan is very quiet anyway (well I can't hear it over the PSU fan) I'll try with reducing the voltage via a power reducer and then maybe changing the fan. I don't see why it needs such a powerful fan. Do you...

Another members shared this picture of the Smart Fan option... ...but I only see these options. "Status" is missing... My NVR is updated to march this year, so it shouldn't need an update. Says no update available anyway. Could it be because it's an unbranded NVR and the unbranded has...

Noisy Dahua NVR5432-4KS2 Sound proofing ideas, Fan upgrade, Reduce fan speed

I think I read that too somewhere. I'm pretty sure it's not the vent that is causing the problem. Putting my hand near the vent I can feel a huge amount of air passing through. I really don't think it needs to spin so fast. I'm currently favoring reducing the power to the fan. Although I'll...

Hi all, I have just received an unbranded Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 courtesy of Andy. It's a well made, solid looking unit and a great spec. 2017 Dahua Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE), ePoE, NEW!

I believed the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE used <6w per camera (thought I read that somewhere.) I've just bought a POE switch to run 4 cameras from my garage. It claims the maximum output to be 30w which I thought was fine as 4x<6=<24w. However the spec sheet says <8.5w per camera meaning 4x8.5=<34w...
