What imaging sensor do these cameras use? I would like to see something with the Sony IMX585, it was built for security cameras and can do 12-bit video at 60fps.
Since this thread was about a specific camera model review I thought it was obvious I was asking about this specific camera and the ability to handle WDR/HDR at night. But I guess not? Not only am I concerned about LPR software but I am concerned a about seeing more detail in areas blown out...
"Depends" and "Usually" mean further information is needed on a specific camera. If you guys are going to throw every single camera model under that bus that's cool. No reason to expect things to change. In the 20 years of using cameras analog and now IP have have seen drastic nighttime...
I want to buy this camera but I am not going to if it has no WDR settings to help with the issue. Do you not comprehend that? My question CLEARLY was not about LPR it was about about WDR/HDR with this specific camera.
For future reference the parts of my paragraph that I am asking questions...
Since Blue Iris is so cheap I decided to give it a try and integrate the people and LPR stuff that is in version 5 which has nothing to do with the camera features.
I've never used it before and had a bit of trouble getting motion detection fine tuned so I set it up to record 24/7 and since...
Is there any way to do HDR or a better WDR for night recording? I do not see how LPR will work when everything that is lit is so blown out.. like lighted license plates.
I have had POE switches in my attic for over a decade and never had a problem. I originally had a 100 Mb/s model then upgraded to a gigabit. I did make sure both units used a metal case so it could not melt down if something went wrong. Personally I expected major issues but never...
Fixed. Camect is just too green from looking in the forums. I'm going to buy that camera I mentioned and see if the cheap version of Milestone works with it and keep working on Zoneminder(ugh). BlueIris is so cheap I may just buy it and try AI tool as well.
Technically if the resolution is high enough you could take a look at the virus particles being exhaled by a person but I doubt we will see that in 50 years.
I did not want to confuse my ask so I did not initially post this but Dahua does offer plugins and custom firmware for Milestone XProtect.

Right now I have Sony cameras and one IPC-HDW5231R-ZE which gives rock solid coverage of my back deck area. Although I like the eyeball format the IPC-B5442E-ZE looks like a nice camera. I noticed it has 1 GB RAM while most others have 512 or 256.
I do have auto floods on my front and back...
Yesterday I was looking at IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED and IPC-T5442TM-AS both are Starlight+ but one uses visible LEDs and the other is IR. Which is the winner? I guess visible light could be a deterrent but I've never seen that on a camera before. Vari-focal models would be nice but I don't see...
I see AI, AI-Lite and these WizMind stereo cameras that can detect falls and violence. It looks like various cameras have a subset of AI but not a complete picture. I'm looking to redo my current MileStone XProtect system from the ground up because the PC it is on is pretty much done and the...
Have you figured this out? I run Unifi and I am looking at this product. For your 2.4 GHz radio did you set Channel Width to HT20? Some 2.4 GHz devices are unstable if set to HT40.
