    Fiber to detached workshop options

This fell off my radar for a bit as some priorities shifted with the build. I want to thank everyone who jumped in with info, I clearly have to do some reading and learning about fiber before moving forward then figure out my network options. I am no where near a networking person beyond...

    Fiber to detached workshop options

I have a 3/4" conduit ran between the house and workshop for comms (just under 100 ft from the network closet to the point of entry into the shop. What fiber should I run (I don't currently own any fiber compatible switches but plan to do some purchases in the next few months as the shop gets...

Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus

When you say it's not accessible from the network, are you losing video feed or can't login only? Can you ping it during the loss? I'd start with process of elimination and try a different port or switch all together. Then consider the buried wire next.

Tinycam Pro on Fire HD 10 tablet for door cam monitor

Yes, @looney2ns confirmation that things will work and your info on the setup is exactly what I was looking for:headbang:. I just ordered the tablet which will arrive just in time for me to install it before Christmas. What would be the appropriate forum to use if I have any further questions...

Tinycam Pro on Fire HD 10 tablet for door cam monitor

Thanks everyone and my apologies about overlooking that I input it in the BI sub. I was scanning for a proper forum and overlooked BI when I saw Android. Mods, please feel free to move this thread to a more appropriate sub.

Tinycam Pro on Fire HD 10 tablet for door cam monitor

This particular deployment will have only an IP camera (a 2nd may be deployed down the road but not likely), a recycled combination router/switch/AP and a tablet for 24/7 viewing on a very tight budget. There isn't/won't be internet or another computer either.Would BI need to be the paid version...

Tinycam Pro on Fire HD 10 tablet for door cam monitor

I'm looking at picking up a Fire HD 10, 11th gen (3 gig version) to use as a dedicated monitor next to my front door for full time display of just one camera (may consider 2 down the road but 1 will suffice). I've seen discussions about using Tinycam Pro with the fire tablets but nothing...

    2022 EmpireTech Chirstmas Sales

You can buy a single 12V POE injector and I have used a power brick like this with some extensions to deploy multiple emitters in fairly close proximity to each other: Fancy Buying Security Camera Power Adapter 12V 5A 100V-240V AC to DC 8-Way Power Splitter Cable FCC Certified LED Power Adapter...

Andy do you have a camera that has a better lense than the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E? all of mine start leaking and fogging up in a year or so

Just to update this thread, I received a sample lens and have a few irons in the fire at the moment. I have one source looking into the feasibility of a plain glass replacement and another looking at acrylic. We are also looking into poly with a UV coating. Pretty much, it's a waiting game at...

Andy do you have a camera that has a better lense than the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E? all of mine start leaking and fogging up in a year or so

Wow, that's a tremendous difference. I can't understand why they would use polycarbonate on something they know is going to get ultraviolet exposure like an outdoor camera does instead of glass.

Andy do you have a camera that has a better lense than the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E? all of mine start leaking and fogging up in a year or so

I sent you my shipping info. Would be best to post a pic or 2 of the lens detached and let's give Andy a day to weigh in in case he has access to replacements already or can provide details on what the factory material is.

Andy do you have a camera that has a better lense than the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E? all of mine start leaking and fogging up in a year or so

I have the resources to get these made (assuming Andy can't get replacements) if someone has the details of tearing down the camera without ruining it or if someone wants to send me a cloudy one they've replaced, that would be even better (rather not tear my cam apart, I haven't even installed...

Andy do you have a camera that has a better lense than the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E? all of mine start leaking and fogging up in a year or so

Are we talking about the rectangular piece in front of the lens or the entire circular section? How hard is it to disassemble one of the 5442s?

EmpireTech 7 Years Anniversay Promotion Plan

Pardon me if I've overlooked this but does Dahua offer dimensional drawings of the camera shell so we can 3d print custom shells and for various mounts or in different colors?

Review: Dahua SD5A425XA-HNR 4MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ

Thanks wittaj. That was exactly what I needed to know. Just ordered a refurb 49425 for a price I couldn't pass up. I have several IR emitter floods and regular floodlights available so the sd5a425xa isn't a need at this time.

Review: Dahua SD5A425XA-HNR 4MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ

Not trying to derail this thread, though somewhat related (mods, please feel free to move if I'm posting inappropriately). I've been researching a PTZ camera for a while now and while I am interested in the new dome unit that Andy has posted about in his "7 year" thread, I do intend to draft a...

Looks great Andy, eagerly awaiting it's price and availability. Any estimate how much longer until the above mentioned 4K 180 degrees turret will be available?

Andy, do you have dimensions? Can you snap a pic of the camera itself with something next to it for scale (like a soda can)?
