    Surveillance Station considerations

If it's all Andy cams I would recommend the Andy nvr also. 5 series. I have blue iris, Synology, and Dahua nvr and honestly all the features work perfect with using the nvr. Synology works better than blue iris but cannot use smart codec with Synology or blue iris. The nvr is the best set it...

BI Switching from Substream to Main too late

I had this problem as well running only 2 empiretech at only 1080p 18 fps. My pc is just an old optiplex i3 4th gen so I wasn’t surprised. I just stopped using substream since it’s only 2 cameras. I tried all combinations of h264 and h265. For my liking even the live view took too long to switch...

Dahua NVR 5216 4ks2e No motion?

Ya I did hit the save button everytime(it gave the "save successful" message), I have the oem firmware, not sure if the version with the dahua logo is any different other than the logo. It all works good now that I got motion to work, my only complaint is by default they shouldn't have the...

Dahua NVR 5216 4ks2e No motion?

Ya I agree, for the most part it looks like most of the controls are in the nvr. For some reason im guessing current nvr firmware is the issue, changes in nvr don't "stick". The camera's are pretty good though, I am impressed so far. I upgraded from an old qsee dvr with old analog dahua cams...

Dahua NVR 5216 4ks2e No motion?

I figured it out, in the camera webpage not nvr you have to set the sensitivity level, by default it was at zero on all cams. Once that was set motion worked immediately. This may be common understanding but for me I had to figure it out the hard way, the camera is the part doing the actual...

Dahua NVR 5216 4ks2e No motion?

Hey all, I recently purchased a system from Andy with 8 dahua ip cams. All installed and by default was recording continuously which I didn't want. I'm pretty tech savvy but I can't for the life of me figure out why motion detection won't work. I've been through all the google searches...

    Encode Settings Issue

I looked into blue iris, I wasn’t able to find pos support otherwise I would have done the pc nvr route. Still might. I’m installing my dahua system in my pizza shop next week, if the pos support in the dahua nvr is crap I’m just gonna scrap the nvr and look at other options.

    Encode Settings Issue

I am having a similar issue, I was changing the settings in the dahua cameras themselves but that wouldn’t translate over to the nvr. It’s almost like setting the change in the nvr interface will supersede all others. I almost wish I could go back to geovision vms but the dahua cameras and nvr...

    Purchasing Hikvision cameras

Surveillance-video.com for hikvision, I’ve used them in the past in the analog days. After much deep thought I just bought a new dahua system from Andy, it was better value and I like the dahua cameras better.

Direct camera adjustment impossible with dahua nvr?

Did you make your own cable? If so did you go by t568b standard? I know it seems like a weird place to start, I once encountered a problem when a friend made his own cable and couldn’t figure out why the poe camera worked on a 3ft cable but not 50ft.
