I have 2x IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and 1x IPC-HDW4231EM-ASE. After upgrade and reboot all cameras forgot substream 1 audio setting. I set it again, but after next reboot it was lost. I had to go back to older FW and all is good again.

Hi, I have same cam and I upgraded it successfully.

@cam26 I can speak only for myself. I did few firmware upgrades (2x5231, 4231) and setting was always preserved. I just went into upgrade>select firmware file>and uploaded update. I dont know if it is correct procedure, but it worked for me.

What about IPC-HDW5241TM-AS? Can I use this fw?

Hm, interesting. I updated IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and connection from Synology Surveillance Station is ok (set to appropriate Dahua model as before).

Use 23AWG pure copper bare wire. It is best for POE. And UV resistant for(if) outdoor use.

@SouthernYankee Agree. I expected camera increase bitrate when VBR because of complex scene. But it did not.

Hi all. I have IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and it is set to h264 CBR 720p/bitrate 5k. I use it for church masses streaming. Example here . I tried use VBR with quality 6(best) and max bitrate 5k and picture was much worse with low bitrate. So I returned back to CBR because it is visibly better. Just my 2 cents.
