I don`t think the problem is in yours NAS. I try the same, just for testing purposes Virtualbox + http://sourceforge.net/projects/openmediavault/files/2.0.13/openmediavault_2.0.13_amd64.iso/download and have no luck, AGAIN... surprise... But again, have NO PROBLEM with windows share.... work...
