    Tree Install

OK. So I've made a little progress with this. After some thought I've decided not to attach the cam directly to the tree, but instead mount it in a faux bird box to disguise it a bit. Here is what I've come up with thus far. The box is 9mm marine ply, about 150mm square by about 240-270mm...

    Tree Install

Hi Guys, So I got a bit inspired to install a IPC-HDW2231R-ZS that I've had lying around for a while in the cupboard. The inspiration came from a tip-rat doing a burnout on the corner that we live on. I got a decent image from an overview camera (IPC-T5442T-ZE) I have on that corner for the...

    Mini-Review - 5442-Z4E-S3 AKA B54IR-Z4E S3 - Replacement to the 5442-Z4E

Thanks. Very clever. Can I assume it is next to a sidewalk? If it is, how far away would people be walking past? The other thing is, in which direction does it face. I have a similar intersection that I live on which faces directly west, so the afternoon sun is terrible for the image in the...

Neigbhor Saves The Day - Suspects Casing Property/Vehicle.

If your property is open, by that i mean there isn't a locked gate or say your driveway/front yard is open to the street, there is implied consent until you explicitly remove consent. If you have a sign at the front that says no trespassing or you do not give consent to them coming on your...

Neigbhor Saves The Day - Suspects Casing Property/Vehicle.

Interesting. In Australia trespass laws are same same but different. If you trespass on government land that becomes a criminal offence and you'll be prosecuted as such. It also doesn't matter whether damage occurred. If you trespass on private land that becomes a civil matter. No damage...

Help needed with night time settings

So, I adjusted the sharpness to values between 20-30. I couldn't see any appreciable difference. I think I'll get another camera while Andy has his sale on. I'll also look at installing an external IR light as well. Thanks for all your help.

Help needed with night time settings

Thanks Wittaj, Reduced Sharpness from 50 to 47......not sure it made much difference. I'm thinking I need more light...... I also re-measured the distance to the curb, it's more like 12m (36ft) not 20ft.......so I'm also wondering if that will have an affect on it as well...

Help needed with night time settings

OK. So I have made a few adjustments. I'm not sure it's any better - just different. Although I seem to have gotten rid of the ghosting to a degree and a lot of the noise but it is a lot darker. Trying to brighten the image with gain or gamma just added more noise. Slowing the shutter more...

Help needed with night time settings

Hi, I have a IPC-HDW2231R-ZS overlooking the road at the corner of our front yard. I've been trying to dial it in but can't seem to get it how I would like. There are 2 street lights either side of the FOV on our corner of the road and a further street light at the next cul-de-sac. Other than...

    Recommend me a Dahua please

Mate, if you are planning to install these cameras in a residential rental property in Australia that you will lease out and then monitor who comes and goes you are asking for a world of hurt. In Australia, once you lease that property you have no rights to that property until the lease expires...

I have a 2231T that has been working great since I got it, no problems whatsoever. Today I decided to move it. When I connected it back up....nothing, nada, zip. It is using the same cable from the old position, I just re-routed it to the new position. I have tried connecting it via the...

    PC Help, Lagging Video

@SouthernYankee below are the screen shots. Disk allocation looks OK. @bp2008 I think you may be correct. I've never seen any files in the "Alerts" folder. I haven't done a db repair yet, just wanting to get some feedback first on the setup to make sure it's all OK. It just seems strange that...
