    OK - changed it to a static IP, clicked on 'Test', which was green-lighted, applied & browsed to the new IP with success. The gateway is set to 192.168.0.1. Do I need to change anything else?

    Nothing - then everything all at once!! A few notes: Turns out it's not possible to change my modem / router's default range from 192.168.0.x, it's fixed by the ISP who provide the (crappy) unit. So - following advice here, and elsewhere, I manually changed my MacBook's IP to 192.168.1.200...

    Yes, when attempting to change the 0 to 1 it's rejected. There's no app for the router that I'm aware of, but I'll check.     I just logged into my router, and attempted to change the IP Address, which it wouldn't allow me to do. This is all getting beyond me. I wasn't expecting these kind of issues, just to get the NVR set up :-/

    Just removed the other two ethernet cables from my router (printers), plugged into one of those ports. Tried again, nothing. If there was an incompatibility with my TV, would it be displaying 'NVR' for some time after power-up?

    OK - removed HMDI cable, hooked up to my router using the enclosed Ethernet cable. Power up. Green ethernet port LEDs solid both ends, amber activity LEDs flashing. Go to 192.168.1.108, and this is the result using Safari & Firefox. Wait a few minutes, try again, same result.
