FYI - Swann has some good deals right now on Hikvision OEM cameras

I can confirm the Australian sold Swann NHD-850 are in fact a Hikvision DS-2CD2055FWD-I. 2.9" sensor, 4mm lens, which matches 63degree viewing angle listed on the box. Detects in SADP, Identical WebUI minus the Hikvision Logo in the top-left corner. Works perfect on Hik NVR!

    Hikvision 1/2" sensor Turret DS-2CD2385G1-I

I have both the newer DS-2CD2385G1-I (1/2.0" sensor) and the older DS-2CD2385FWD-I (1/2.5" sensor) 8MP cameras. Both were placed in the same spot as I had upgraded the cameras. eg: on house looking at driveway/street/etc. My verdict is the larger sensor 1/2.0" is a significant improvement at...

How to disable SV3C china feed?

As a simple local-only solution for the camera, just assign it a static IP without a default gateway.

Hikvision NVR 760XNI-I Firmware 4.1.60 release

No error messages, however my 8MP cams don't appear on the camera list. The UI that does appear seems very vague and doesn't show the line-crossing rules that I've setup on the cameras themselves.

Hikvision NVR 760XNI-I Firmware 4.1.60 release

Updated my Aliexpress* unit today straight from 3.4.95 via the web interface upload. After a very nervous reboot wait, it worked perfect! :D Looks like a massive improvement so far. I had been seeing some UI performance issues and shuttering - buffering like - issues in previous...

Choosing Hikvision cameras: Lines and Darkfighter

Correct. At night the extra pixels are pretty useless anyway as video compression doesn't help the cause for dark grainy images. Camera Sensors will vary in image quality between models, but the general rule applies. I have a 3MP DS-2CD2335FWD-I (1/2.8" sensor) and it's night vision is better...

Choosing Hikvision cameras: Lines and Darkfighter

Darkfighter's have a much larger camera sensor - eg: 1/1.8" vs the usual 1/3" on most 3mp or 4mp cameras. Larger sensor = more light sensitivity for each pixel. Now it's also very important to note that as Megapixel's increase, your effective pixel size will get smaller & thus will reduce...

Hikvision NVR 760XNI-I Firmware 4.1.60 release

Hi Venturis, Was your NVR from Australia or Aliexpress/China? I have an Aliexpress 7616NI-I2 on 3.4.95 & a couple of those 8MP cams & older 3MP's. Current firmware's UI seems a bit laggy/buggy at times so looking to upgrade without bricking :)

Review - TOP-201 Super Mini 720P HD IP-Cam (The Cheapest IP Cam So Far !!)

The hikvision 3MP are much much better cameras - and also do POE, as well as a solid case - but are triple the price. This camera was super cheap & I'm still very impressed for the $30 AUD i spent on it.

    Hikvision 3.3.4 firmware

I too bricked my DS-7616N-E2/8P when attempting to go from 3.0.10 to 3.4.4 Fortunately reflashing the old firmware via the TFTP process bought it back from the dead.
