    HOME ASSISTANT (Assist) Voice Assistant

Using Homeseer here too. Audio out to amplifier is from Homeseer speaker running in Windows Server, Homeseer base running in Linux and HA running as a VM. Using HA more than Homeseer these days. I am Pete on the Homeseer forum. I like your TTS fonts. Wife has been living here with TTS...

Linux Software Needed to Repeat RTSP

I am using GitHub - snowzach/rts2p: RTSP Proxy Server rtsp proxy server in HA for my doorbell. Works in docker too. I do not believe it stores 5 minutes of video though. You can install Zoneminder (which I use) on an RPi to work with one stream. RTS2P - RTSP Stream Proxy This is a simple...

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

Just an FYI. I have not had any issues with my 24 port managed TP-Link switches, 4, 8 and POE port managed switches in years. Here also utilizing a PFSense firewall with multiple LAN / WAN ports connected to a broadband cable modem. I came from the commercial Cisco world for work and...

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

I would assume that it is a faulty POE switch rather than a faulty POE camera. My guess is that the replacement POE switch will work and that the cameras did not get damaged. BTW I worked on the Milan Airport (MXP) when it was getting rebuilt in the late 1990's / early 2000's. It is a work...

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

Again from Google AI: A failing PoE switch will typically exhibit symptoms like powered devices (like IP cameras or access points) not powering on, experiencing intermittent power loss, network connectivity issues, and may show indicator lights on the switch indicating a power problem, all...

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

Might be stressing the POE switch. Wire up the network as shown below. Disconnect 2 of the 3 POE cameras and try again or use a POE injector and connect to switch A. Also what is the MFG and model of your router (router = switch, AP and firewall).

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

All cameras go offline everyday at the same hour and don't come up until I manually power cycle the switch. AI answer: If all your PoE cameras consistently go offline at the same time each day and only come back online after manually power cycling the switch, it most likely indicates a problem...

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

Move one camera to a separate POE injector and plug it in to switch A and see if it stays up.

    hello from Italy

Went to Google AI. I had a similar issue here except it was relating to my Ruckus AP autobooting. Found out that the cable I had installed and tested was faulty. Installed a new long cable to test. Re terminated it and all is good. The bouncing messed with my Tasmota WiFi switches. Note...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

My Hikvision DB is still working fine. (RTSP and ONVIF) Can you provide a link to the battery? While the PIR is still active my preference is to utilize an external outdoor PIR. The chime is working fine connected to the alarm panel with a debounce circuit board and a current sensor board.

How to get an indoor alarm, triggered by Hikvision camera, without internet connection?

Way back I was running ONVIF to MQTT software and found that the video motion detection was too sensitive outside. This would be the same as running Home Assistant with an ONVIF add on and configuring it for motion. You can run Home Assistant on a RPI and trigger audio output chimes or even...

How to get an indoor alarm, triggered by Hikvision camera, without internet connection?

Personally here do not like the video motion algorithms. Especially for outdoor use. Went back to using outdoor combo PIR/Microwave motion detectors. While they are connected to the alarm they are used mostly for automation notifications and not to trigger the alarm.

How to get an indoor alarm, triggered by Hikvision camera, without internet connection?

See if you can see the camera with the ONVIF application. IE: ONVIF device manager and look see if the motion is in the ONVIF configuration. Then go to using Home Assistant (free) using the ONVIF add on or the Hikvision Add on. You have to put HA on the same network. Create automation...

How to get an indoor alarm, triggered by Hikvision camera, without internet connection?

Wired alarm panel connected to the camera triggers. I used software to generate MQTT from my Hikvision DB. Software integration to alarm panel. Personally here in the early 2000's used Optex combo outdoor cameras wired to alarm panel. Automation used SAPI TTS for whole home audio and...

    HOME ASSISTANT (Assist) Voice Assistant

Using it today with the little M5 echos. Testing TTS now out of the audio output of Home Assistant to the house audio which works a bit better than the little voice from the M5's. I like it better than the Amazon Echo's all over the house and being non internet dependant for VR / TTS...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Disconnect the transformer and check the AC power on it with a voltmeter. Purchase a hot spare and test DB on the workbench. I have read here of issues with the power module and or defective power modules. I do not know of a way to test it. Thinking the power module is a Hikvision DS-KPB01...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I agree to the above two posts. In addition I would take it to the workbench and power it up with a spare DB power supply and see if it does the same thing. Then maybe take it apart and check the battery. Here since taking off the cloud and running it through an HA Proxy have not had any...

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

Helped a buddy here who built a new home on his farm 10 years ago. He was cheap and went to using cat6 between homes which is working fine today. That said I originally suggested a wireless bridge to his apartment building in town 13 miles away. This is related to internet. His home is about...
