    If the lens doesnt have an IR filter then the camera cant see IR light. So you could put 10 IR lights around the camera and they would be useless if the camera cant see the light.

    Reason i asked is because i wonder if this camera has an "IR filter" if it does not then an IR emitter wont help anything. I dont see anything in the specs that says it does, so it probably cant see IR light.

    Ahh.. yea if there is no lighting there is not much it can do. Have you ever tried panning towards your other cameras field of views to see if it picks up there IR light? I have a couple 1/2.8 starlights and they do exceptionally well even with there IR turned off, but i have a street light...

    Thanks for the reply! The camera is 9 feet up. It was the lowest i could get it and keep the cable in the attic. I may try adding a IR light to help.. I will bump the gain back up to 50, Thank you guys!

    I dont seem to be getting as bright a picture as you looney2ns.. This video is with 0-16ms shutter speed and 0-40 Gain. This neighborhood has no street lights so maybe that is why..? Camera is about 9 feet up and 60 feet to the street.

    I dont think there is a way to tell the camera to record the substream 24/7 and record the tripwires on mainstream.. Im not using a NVR.... Im only using the cameras GUI and a microSD card in the camera. If there is a way let me know please.
