"More usable" of a completely unusable version is still not very usable :-). There is no single reason in the world to wait for 30 seconds for every GUI reaction in the Live view! I don't believe there is anything to do with a clean OS install (a waste of time), this is solely the Dahua software...

No sorry, it's not. It doesn't look any better and doesn't work any faster. Still the same terrible lags in the Live View! Maybe a bit more responsive than the previous version, but still unusable. :-( Versions: Mac OS 11.0.1 SmartPSS 2.03.5 (2021-01-21)

This version (December 3d) got crashes on exit again (like the 1st beta), though the reverse-playback bug has been fixed. My overall feelings remain the same: it's definitely usable but buggy and the "release" isn't any different from betas in that matter.

Same here. Playback is extremely buggy. The time line goes forward by "slots" with a given amount of seconds, but the playback within a slot is played backward! The good news: the application doesn't crash upon exit anymore.

Thanks a lot for sharing the link! Tested it with 10.14.6, before moving to Catalina. It seems to work OK, but crashes after exiting. Will still wait a little before updating to 10.15. Good news and a great hope anyway!

No one knows what made them to wait so long with the 64-bit version. The few months gap between the official OS release and the application that supports the OS does NOT look good for a big technology&security company. But it's always better late than never :-). There are many people waiting...

That's a VERY expensive alternative, I'd appreciate if someone can point to a cheaper solution. As a typical home user I want just an occasional live view and even more rare NVR recordings playback. Too smart or too "corporate" multi-hundred dollars solutions are a real overkill... Thank you in...
