    CPU Usage HIGH

Lenovo ts140, Dell t20, or t110 with the Xeon E3. Keep an eye on slickdeals.net, they come up every 3 months or so for ~$280. Last round was nov&dec so they should be on sale again soon.

Moving BI to a new PC - performance issues

Yup, take out the nvidia card and enable HA. I have a nearly identical Haswell E3-1225V3 with 9 3MP HIK's @ 15fps. With HA it idles at 33% and peaks to 58% with all cameras triggered. When viewing recordings it sits around 47%. Lenovo TS140 E3-1225 V3 - Intel HD P4600 - Intel C226 chipset -...

Blue Iris Hardware Setup - Advice Please

Two E5-2690 V2's should be at least 30% faster than four 8380's. You still wont be able to take advantage of HA like you would with a newer i7 or E3 but it would still be a significant improvement to the AMD's. Depending on what you are recording, you should look at lowering the fps. If you are...

    Power Consumption

My BI box sits around ~36W with Intel hardware acceleration enabled, CPU is ~24% with 6 3MP Hik @ 15fps, direct to disc. This works out to be ~$40 per year with my local power monopoly. This is NOT including the POE switch. Lenovo TS140 E3-1225 V3 - Intel HD P4600 - Intel C226 chipset - 12GB ECC...

    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

I got to say that I am pretty happy with the results thus far. Much less fluctuation at night than I was getting before.

    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

Okay so I disabled the Blue Iris service, enabled HA again, rebooted and my Hik's stopped dropping out. So in my case there is currently something up with HA and the BI service. Previously the average for this box was 32% CPU, it is now sitting at 24% CPU and 5%GPU since changing over about an...

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

For me, it is because you are changing the rules in the middle of the game. Imagine if MS started charging retail Office users for minor updates and service packs while giving O365 users them for free. Major revisions, ok the subscription model works here but not for minor updates.

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

You will never hear me say that BI is not a killer deal for what it is nor that I would not mind paying a little more for it. However, this is still putting updates behind a paywall regardless if this is an industry standard or not. In fact, the price and not adhering to commercial industry...

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

I 100% agree with the support aspect. However, I do not think that minor updates should be lumped in with support. Let the people that need support pay for it but this is still a paywall for minor updates to the people that will never use the support.

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

Well, I for one will not be purchasing any minor updates out of principle alone because I absolutely DESPISE subscription based models. I get the support aspect of it, by all means charge an annual fee for support. But you really should not modify the rules in the middle of a major revision...

    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

When turning this on all of my Hik cams go blank. I updated drivers and rebooted, at first I thought it was due to RDP but I tried straight from the box and no dice. Lenovo TS140 E3-1225 V3 Intel HD P4600 C226 chipset
