I bought a W452AS floodlight. So I figured out on the Dahua WIKI that the Dahua Wifi LincX2PRO line including the L46 floodlight uses the SD card for it's firmware recovery trick instead of TFTP. I have not tried loading the L46N firmware onto the Lorex W452AS yet. I'm trying to understand ways... -

As to not brick beyond our current knowledge I highly suggest he puts the rca firmware on his rca vdb then watch serial as he does a partial reset as well as a full reset to see what both erase if anything. -

This camera could be a ezviz camera which means it has a ezviz bootblock it’s looking for ezviz.dav firmware file to recover the bad firmware would be nice to know if other brands are looking for ezviz or a different file. They all might in fact look for the same file. -

Apparently you missed the fact that it’s running Linux or something of the sort hence why it has uboot. If this is the case then it’s simpler then modifying firmware and is as simple as logging into the device and turning options on by hand. -

This is out of line and out of control! 1. the power kit is required for mechanical chimes. 2. these doorbells are not designed for lower then 12 volts you should be running 12v, it's designed for a normal doorbell transformer. not sure if 24v was ever considered spec for this doorbell. the... -

look at your app CLOSELY! if the device is internet facing and you can see the VDB from app while not home then you should see 3 hours of video recorded to the cloud. look in settings related to cloud storage also. 2 options from what I remember: Free 3 hours or paid subscription. -

yes your correct, the power spike is for the chime not the vdb. the box is mainly to hold and send constant clean power to the VDB to keep it powered up and help with the spike needed to set the chime off. And yes, they can go bad! -

if you have the device internet facing then the video is stored on their servers even if you op out of cloud storage. they save 3 hours I think. no way to turn this off unless you put the device in a VLAN with NO access to internet -

If you get good firmware running and can TTL into the device can you poke around and see what OS is running on it, is it linux, maybe busybox. is it password protected. what chipset is this. shame we can't tasmoto it lol!
