I have several TiOC 2.0 Eye Ball cameras on my system connected to a DHI-NVR5216/32-16P-4KS2E NVR. I rebooted my system because it was throwing a fan speed exception and on reboot two of my cameras are showing green on device status but on the live feed display no video and has the message ‘fail to start camera fix it by confit tool’.

I have tried resetting the cameras, deleting them and adding them back, checked and tested the network cable attached to them but no joy. Does anyone know of a solution for this one?

Hi did you ever figure this out? I have 4 out of 12 TIOC eye ball cameras giving me the same error message "fail to start camera fix it by config tool" after running perfectly for 2 years. No recent firmware changes at all.

Camera part number is: DH-IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-S3 running firmware: 2.840.0000000.13.R,2022-01-10

It sounds like the camera has been reset to factory default and needs initialized again

Config tool is one way to initialize it, but I never use it.

Easiest way is to simply login to the camera and go back through the 2-3 steps it walks you through to initialize.

Hmmm I have never in almost 10 years seen that

Are you using IE or Pale Moon 32?

Edge in IE mode works mostly as well

You should be able to do a hard reset with the physical button while plugged in and wait for it to be recognized by the NVR

here is the screenshot. There is no way to initialize the camera from its webpageView attachment 206777
Are you on a Mac?
By that IP it looks like the camera is at default, 192.168.1.108.
There should be a reset button under the door for the microSD card, have you tried a hard reset?

I appreciate all the responses

I tried hard reset using the reset button under microSD card, pushing for 30 sec, powering off, on, etc.
Then I tried using the Dahua ConfigTool to re-initialize (one camera on the bench).
Then After awhile I tried a firmware update using configTool but that may have bricked this 1 camera per Andy
I still have 4 cameras (out of 12) with same failure mode installed at client (haven't touched them yet)
I have been working with Andy but it has been taking awhile. Replacing 2 cameras but then yesterday 2 more are exhibiting same failure mode
These TIOC cameras have worked flawlessly 2 years no issues, they do have SD cards
Attached pic is from DMSS running in webpage on EDGE on windows. The camera webpage shows this same "Fail to Start" error that DMSS is showing. The fourth camera is working view just for context

Man I:'m sorry, I can't think of anything that would do that other than corrupt FW? :idk:

Try removing the SD card, leave it out and perform another hard reset, one camera at a time.
