I'm not "new" new, but I never introduced myself here, so here I am! I bought my first IP camera, an Axis 205, way back in 2004 when my son was born. I hacked in my own passive 12 V on the 4 unused wires before I knew that POE was even a thing!

Now I have 14 cameras in regular use, with plans for at least 5-6 more, plus several of my existing cams need upgrading:
  1. House security cameras:
    1. Front door, Reolink RLC-420
    2. Back sliding door, RLC-420
    3. Driveway, RLC-420-5MP
    4. Upper driveway/parking spot, RLC-411S, EOL firmware requiring Flash
    5. Guest house entrance, RLC-420
    6. Upper Gate, Amcrest IP5M-T1179EW-28MM
    7. Mailbox Camera 1, future, model TBD
    8. Mailbox Camera 2, future, model TBD
  2. Trail Cameras:
    1. Looking Uphill, RLC-410S, EOL firmware requiring Flash . Might replace with a Dahua OEM IPC-HFW4431R-Z when it arrives, or I might just use the Dahua as an IR cannon.
    2. Looking Downhill, RLC-410. Same situation as the uphill camera.
  3. Bee Cameras:
    1. Main Bee Cam, RLC-423S, EOL firmware requiring Flash
    2. Swarm Trap Cameras
      1. Exterior view (spring only, model TBD)
      2. Interior view (spring only, model TBD)
      3. If I can figure out how to do it properly, I'll combine these two into a 2-up "side-by-side" live YouTube stream. Here's what that would look like (from last Spring)
    3. Comb-building Time-Lapse Cam (spring only, model TBD)
  4. Owl Cameras:
    1. Exterior view (currently offline, but will get the RLC-411 back on Monday, from below, and looking for an upgrade)
    2. Interior view(RLC-411,, EOL firmware requiring Flash , but will upgrade with my new Lorex E891AB on Monday)
      1. I'm having issues getting this to stream properly, every day, on YouTube without manual intervention
    3. If I can figure out how to do it properly, I'll combine these two also into a 2-up "side-by-side" YouTube stream
  5. Hummingbird Camera, Wyze v2
  6. Finch Nest Camera, Wyze v3
  7. Random Cam, Wyze v2, for various uses around the house, like sourdough time-lapses or feral kitten captures.
I desperately need to build myself an NVR box, as soon as I can figure out how to get BI to save to a network share and then figure out how much horsepower I need/can afford.
