I'm completely new to IP cameras, but would like to have a 3 camera outdoor setup looking at my 3 exterior doors.

I'm located in the east coast of Canada, so the camera will be exposed to rain, ice rain, show and the cold. I plan on locating all cameras under soffits, so they should be somewhat sheltered.

I currently have an unused custom built Windows desktop. It should be able to keep up (i5, 16GB of RAM, SSD HD, 2TB WD Black, etc.). Everything else I'll need to buy new.

So this is what I'm looking at buying:

x3 exterior cameras - Model number DS-2CD2132F-IS (one 2.8mm, two 4mm)
x1 A Basic PoE Switch - Model number TPE-S44
x4 Cat6 ethernet cables to length
x1 Blue Iris software (full version)

Is there anything else I'm missing that I need to purchase?

Your setup looks good like @Del Boy said. One thing I want to mention is your i5 you are using. Depending one what exact model it is, it might just barely keep up with the three cams at full spec (20 fps @ 3MP), OR it will take them with ease. What model processor is it you have installed?

That scores a 7156 passmark and should breeze through 3 cams running full specs.

I have a 3570K in my little computer. It's running at 4.5GHz on water (one 120mm radiator also cooling a Radeon 5870). Great little chip, if you need extra power later then gently overclock it, usually no extra voltage required.

Not your average i5 btw!
