To sum it up: put your trash can out, get a big aggressive dog, glass break detector, wireless/cellular alarm signs, neighborhood watch works, close all visual pathways to your inside, no mail/newspaper build up, brace all windows.
Oh...and put a 6 foot high camera on front door

watched a couple more YouTube vids of how burglars think. It's all relative to the person who is doing the burglar. But the "following UPS/FedEx truck to do the work to see if someone is home" was an eye opener.

Our next goal is to replace the downstairs windows and sliders with impact glass. We have a second home in Fort Lauderdale and it is near impenetrable. Concrete block construction with a concrete tile roof and impact rated doors and windows for hurricanes.
