4mp up to 8mp IP Camera to a 1080p NVR

Hi our NVR is only 1080p a generic NVR from China. I want to ask if I can use a 4mp up to 8mp IP Camera? So just incase in the future we don't need to upgrade the cameras only the NVR.

The NVR is almost same like this.

The specs do state that it can support 24 5Mp cams, no idea how it would function. I suppose worst case you might have to drop the resolution of the cams?

Thank you. But have you tried that using 4mp up camera to a 1080p NVR then lowering the IP camera settings to 1080p?

No I don’t have that or any NVR as I use BI.
