I routinely log in remotely to the NVR to playback videos. Videos are about 600MB per 10 min segment so dloading each segment takes a while. Instead i opt to scrub / seek thru the videos to areas of interest. You'd think with Smart PSS being on version 4.0 and modern sensibilities it would have the playback video seeking perfected -- thumbnails, frame by frame, shortcut keys, skip forward/backward -- but nope. It's like dealing with RealPlayer from the 1990s.
Anyway, just wondering if there is an alternative, properly featured remote player for Windows. Heck, give me the steps to get VLC or MPC-BE to connect remotely and i'll be good. Worse case I can use Dahua API to build my own.
