Adding camera to 8 channels Nvr

I heard from salseman that I can use poe switch to add one or two, but I didn't buy one as I wasn't sure.

You can use a POE switch to add cameras to an NVR but you can't exceed the rated number of channels.

What do you mean then by adding cameras? I want exactly 10 cameras.

I have owned 3 different 8 channel recorders....they wont allow a 9th or 10 camera in the system....
you need to step up to a 16 Ch....
