Adding New POE Camera to Existing NVR

Hi all, really hope someone can help me here.

Current Setup:
NVR: Annke N44PS
Cameras: 4x Cameras that came with the NVR
Issue: One camera has packed in and not responding. I think there has been some damage of sort as it was only connecting intermittently.
Solution: I purchased a Annke I51DB Camera as a replacement.

Now, I have followed the guides and activated the camera using the SADP tool and I can access it just fine through web browser etc. Theres absolutely no issue there.

Problem:
The issue Im coming up against is getting it talking to the NVR. Now, I understand that I need to set the IP addresses etc so that the NVR can see it. This is what I have done:

IP Address: 10.1.1.150
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.1.1.1

I plug this into the port of the NVR and then return to the web-interface for the NVR and run a device search but it never finds it. I have tried to "manually add" it under the ONVIF protocol, but again it doesnt register or gives me a red dot to say that something is wrong. I genuinelly have no idea if the NVR is even seeing the camera in the first place.

I've used the username and password that I would use to access the camera through its http web portal. - is there a chance that its a different password Ive to use?

What Ive attempted so far:
I've seen that I need to disable the "Illegal login" setting on the new Annke camera, which I have done, but still doesnt do anything to change the fact that the NVR isnt seeing it.

I've also seen somewhere (and unfortunately cannot find the webpage again) that it says all my cameras must have the same password.

ANy help getting this new Annke camera to speak to the NVR would be really appreciated as I'm running out of ideas here.

Summary:
Camera works fine when I'm accessing it through normal web interface but when I want it to speak to the NVR and I change the IP settings to match those of the NVR, it's not working.

edit: I've followed this guide too - How to connect POE onvif camera to NVR?(ex. I61FC/I61FB/I61DU/I61DT/I81FB) - which ties in with what I have already done.

Sounds like you've touched a lot a bases already. But here goes:
  • Have you tried another 'good' Ethernet cable?
  • I don't have an Annke product, but I've seen re-branded Dahua cameras with a menu selection where you must enable ONVIF...is that a possibility?

Hey Tony!

Yes, I had tried a few different ethernet cables but that didnt do anything.

While I was waiting for my topic to be approved, I went looking and found a post about the ONVIF and to check if it was enabled. Lo and behold, I found the settings inside the advanced settings and it wasn't enabled. Doh! Enabled it and hey presto, after manually adding it to the NVR, it worked. So that was my issue!

Thanks to the posts here, it was in here that someone mentioned the ONVIF enable section. Thanks to you all!

On a side note, I notice that the Annke Camera that I've just added has a limit of 640x480 for a substream whereas my original cameras all let me substream at a much higher resolution. Anyone know of a quick fix to enable it? I wasn't sure if upgrading the firmware (even if a more up to date firmware would even be available) would give me such an option.

Glad to know that it was mentioned in my second suggestion and was, in fact, the solution!;)
