I have installed 4 x DS-2CD2155FWD-I, along with a NVR DS-7608NI-K2/8P (was using QNAP for NVR but it was rubbish - far too slow). Everything is up and working just fine. Full time recording at the moment, to the NVR only.

The purpose is general deterrent/monitoring around house and garden.

My questions are around the setup of the cameras. What is the practical recommendation for camera setup from the more experienced people here? I realise there are a LOT of variables, but if someone with expertise could make a recommendation on 'standard' settings for me to try I would appreciate it. I want good enough quality without overloading my network and NVR with traffic.

Motion Detection: This is a good way to limit storage and traffic? Only record motion?
- Enable?
- Enable Dynamic Analysis for Motion?
- Linkage? Email/Notify/Upload to FTP/MemoryCard. Cameras are high up so maybe copy to SD card?

From the 'Video' setting page:
- Resolution? Practically what do people use? I have 1920x1080P set
- Bitrate Type? Constant
- Frame rate? 25 fps
- Max Bitrate? 2048 kbps
- Max Average? 1024 kbps
- Codec? H.264+ versus H.265+. I can support both. Currently using H.264+
- I Frame interval? 25

Thanks
