How exactly did you do the move, did you just change the location in BI? Did you do a rebuild of the database after you made the change, I have never done this but I would suspect that BI does not move the existing database automatically

Whenever you start moving files around like that, you are opening up a can of worms and the potential to corrupt the database.

You would be better off to try not to "fix" this, but to stop the BI service and delete stuff and start new.

What else did you start moving around - NEW folder, Alerts folder, etc., or just the DB folder?

If all you did was the DB folder then delete the DB folder and restart BI to have it rebuild the database. Keep in mind you will lose the thumbnail alerts for anything prior to the rebuild.

If you started moving other stuff around, then delete those video files and get your folders set up properly and then restart BI with a fresh new set of videos.

Then the calendar dots are lost, since the "db" folder is not original.
FWIW, the "db" folder should be on the C:\ drive along with Windows and BI.

i just pointed BI to the C drive folder DB .instead of where I placed it many years ago on the D drive. I have not moved any files yet. How do you force a database rebuild?

Ok, thank you , next i would like to change the New back to C drive also ,then transfer the new over to my large D drive storage . will that cause any issues?

Best practice is Windows, BI, DB on the C: drive (typically an SSD) and put all video in the NEW folder on a HDD rated for surveillance and not use STORED.

Moving video from NEW to STORED in the same box (c drive to D drive or D drive to D drive) is wearing out the drives prematurely and running a higher CPU.

STORED drive should only be used when sending to a NAS.

So if you have NEW on the large D drive, you should keep it there.

My c drive is an ssd but small only 250gb and the d drive is purple 15 tb . in the picture is it set up correctly?

That is more than large enough for an SSD for Windows and BI.

Yes that looks correct.

Make STORED 0GB and do not move NEW to STORED.

Great thank you! will it rebuild itself over night? i was going to move some of the stored ones back to new

awesome thank you!

The one thing i noticed after playing around was the D drive rear -91.97 tb Its been messed up for years on me ,just not that far out, Any thoughts?

Whatever the capacity is of the drive, subtract about 10% off of it and enter that number in the available storage for the NEW folder (Assuming nothing else is on that drive).

Where did you find a 91.97 TB hard drive, especially one that is several years old, that is a really massive drive!
Not sure what is messed up, the pictures are out of focus and too small to be readable. Perhaps you could explain what the problem is and provide some pictures that are better quality!

Ok that makes sense I will try that in the morning.

I am a little confused as the D drive is 14.9tb. I minus out the 10% but still reads negative 7.5T in BI . My D is set up as a storage drive on window consisting of 4 drives of different sizes. Not sure if that is why?

You don't get full capacity of a drive, so that is probably part of the problem. If you have system restore of for the drive that takes up storage as well (you should turn that off since it is just a storage drive).

It is best to not set up one drive comprised of 4 different drives.

The better approach is to split the cameras among the other drives so when one drive fails, you don't lose all the cameras.

Ok thanks makes sense! thanks again . Now I have to work on why this pc is always close or 100% cpu
