Interesting, but unless it can somehow be setup to support multiple camera streams at once, for about $200 it seems like an expensive add-on device for a single camera. A single 5442 camera is comparable in price with those capabilities built-in.
Saves me $10 a month for LPR services and inconsistencies with Blue Iris's built-in LPR

@Arjun - how will you deploy this? Perhaps rack mounted?
I would connect this mounted to the wall; connecting just my LPR camera for license plate recognition.

From my understanding, there is also an AI Key that Ubiquiti will be rereleasing (supporting multiple cameras, but I believe they are for older Ubiquiti devices only and newer models with basic AI functions). Its on the pricier end; I just need one for LPR; will pay for itself in over a year and half.

For now this is a joke...
when they do device which will do AI for 4/8/16 cameras at good prices, then we can talk..

Especially that Hik/Dahua AI NVRs do that - so ready to use solutions are on SOC/chip markets..

Dahua and Hikvision cameras and NVRs with LPR integrated are expensive and doesn't utilize conventional mounting methods from what I see. These AI solutions seem decent to use cameras which only have basic AI. To get LPR that works without paying a premium is a rarity. I'm have to use both the OpenALPR solution through BI and RekorScout for the time being

You can do semi LPR (graphics plate snapshots, not OCR'ed) simply on 5442-S3 (full Video Meta Data mode without AcuPick) - so it can be cheap..
For full ANPR / Parking solution / Video Metadata with ANPR you can use 7442-X - yes it cost most, but they are mounted in normal way..

Dahua ANPR do plate numbers, car type (sedan/suv/truck/etc), car brand (Nissan/Audi etc), color and if there is visibility inside thins like belts, glasses or mobiles in hands..
And when You run in Video Meta Data it also do humans and faces (with attributes too)...

Unifi ANPR to plate numbers and colors...
So this Unifi AI solution is very basic in comparison to Dahua one...

this is cheap 5442-Z4E:

That, I was aware of, but the Dahua interface does not have a search function for license plates in my understanding. In your picture, I would have to glance through 23 pages of LPR data. In RekorScout, I can narrow down LPR results by state, plate #, vehicle make and model, etc.

Wanted to make it clear that as of right now, there is no guarantee that LPR is coming to the AI Port at the time of writing this. AI Detections can be for anything - Ubiquiti does not make it clearly exactly what encompasses the AI detections in their AI Port

Their Ad somewhat implies that LPR could be a feature, looking forward to the reviews
