My setup is 8 IP cameras - 1 Dahua [older model], 3 Lorex [E841CA, E892AB, W881AA], 4 Amcrest [IP3M-943].
All cameras are hard wired and have there own electrical power adapter.
Not sure if this is pertinent, but my ISP is a cable fiber internet at 180 mbps.
When I purchased the Amcrest cams I also purchased a NVR4108-HS from Amcrest, which I use to view my cams on a monitor hooked to the NVR.
The NVR4108-HS is wireless, only hooked into my router via an DLink 8 port gigabyte switch, which my IP cams are hooked into.
I originally started with the Amcrest cams and added the Lorex and Dahua later.
My problem is that 3 of the cameras will not show permanently on my monitor. They will show if I reboot the NVR, but only for a few minutes.
The three cameras not showing are - 1 Amcrest, 1 Lorex, 1 Dahua, so I dont believe it is the cams that are the problem.
In the spaces where the cams should be showing, after the picture goes away, is a red lock symbol.
I can view these cams in the setup area on the NVR and also via IP address in a browser, just not on the LIVE view.
Not sure, but I think this is an NVR problem, but really do not know how to solve it. I have tried to solve this through Amcrest support to no avail.
Would anybody have any insight or suggestions as to why this problem occurs?
Thank you.

Sounds like you have your system setup to log out, Then setup for the cameras that are going offline after the timeout time are setup with different ability in VIIEW page.. I have not messed around with this for long time so I will have to refresh my memory about what causes this.. But I have many different Amcrest DVR/NVRs 2108E-HS, 4108E-HS, 4116E-HS, 4108-A2, 4216E-AI, 4216-E1, 5232E-16P and have gave a few away in the last few years.. But let me mess around to see what you will want to do to correct this..

Right out of the gate what comes to memory and seeing I mess with so many devices I could be wrong. So here is what to look at. In your User area for default user group make sure that you have all the cameras connected if they are off aka unchecked then when the Admin logs out any camera that isn't on the default user will not display..

So, under Account:
1] I have User - named Admin, when I click on Edit>Monitor all my cams are checked.
2] I have Group which list 2 groups - Admin [Administrator Group] and User [User Group], when I click on Edit>Monitor all my cams are checked for both of these accounts.
Is this what you mean?

Under the user group.. What FW are you using? Because on the current version only way I can get it to do it is if I setup a new account with options removed. Seeing the User Group is setup and seems that it can't be modified.. I hate to say it that I have a 7204 machine from years ago that after a year or so of use I will come to the DVR and I will also have the same issue. There was no settings that were changed.. After contacting Support over Email and a few minutes on phone when they called the cure ended up being a Factory Reset. Now you can try to do an export before you do. However seeing there might be an issue with FW running being little mixed up the issue could return once you import that setup back.. So you might need to do a Factory Reset 2 times.. Anyway only way I can do it now on the current FW is by making an account that has the channels missing for that user and logging in the user. I can see all cameras until I log in then they are locked. As picture below show..

So if under user group if you can't change or if all channels are picked then you will want to Reset NVR back to factory..

So here is one of my 4108E-HS and should look like your 4108-hS GUI.. removed the connected cameras that were on the POE to show the Amcrest Logo.. Don't mind my strange number scheme lol After adding the cameras I wanted them in different area of the grid. Rather then changing the cameras around I just moved the channels around on the Grid lol.. Again only way to get the locks to show up is to make a new account and remove the cameras from the line up of allowed cameras to view.. So guess a Reset will be needed.. Only 1 time but what I do is take a picture to remember where I have the cameras on the grid and that makes it easier to add them back. But I have a lot of cameras and recorders so it isn't as hard for others with less in the fleet..

Some of these NVR have a bandwidth limit, and once that's exceeded/full it will only show what it can.
Try reducing a bunch of cameras to 10 FPS and see what happens. user manual in link available on this site............
  • Extraordinary Quality: Supports 8-Channel 1080p/3MP/4MP/5MP/8MP/4K Resolution
  • Records 8-Channels @ 1080p/3MP/4MP/5MP/8MP/4K & Playback 8-Channel @1080p(30fps)/4-Channel @4MP(30fps)/2-Channel @4K(30fps)
  • Record in Widescreen, Quick Access QR Code Remote Viewing on iOS and Android Smartphone/Tablet Devices (w/ included Amcrest View app)
  • The A2 Series Support camera's AI features, All AI features are controlled on the camera side so the AI features available on the NVR may depend on the model camera being used. There are No Built-In AI features associated with this NVR
  • Advanced H.265 compression technology lets you save on storage space which allows for longer recording times. H.265 technology compresses your video without sacrificing any of the UltraHD video quality
  • Max 80Mbps Incoming Bandwidth, records 7 cameras @ 4K using H.264. Records 8 cameras @ 4K by changing default settings from H.264 to H.265 and adjusting bit rate to 1792 on each camera for maximum optimization
  • Feature-Rich OSD: Camera Name, Time, Motion Detection, Video Loss, Lock, and Record Status Icons
  • Multiple Trigger/Alarm Events: Recording, PTZ, Tour, Video Push, Email, FTP, and Buzzer

  • Pre-Installed 4TB Hard Drive (Supports up to 10TB Hard Drive)
  • This product may contain components which are not NDAA compliant
  • USB Backup Feature for Peace of Mind

That is for the A2 but is the same Bandwidth.. I don't think that is the issue as I have taking mine over and it wasn't locked just said that it was over.. However for the OP if you didn't reset your NVR already and want to check the camera info.. Right click and then Main Menu, Then click the Camera icon at the bottom of the screen. Then at the bottom of the Device screen as it comes up first, under your installed cameras will have how much bandwidth you have left.. Normally the lock is an Encryption issue or user related issue. At times people that use VBR over CBR can have some over bandwidth issues if a good few cameras have high traffic at the same time. But normally this would just give an error of being something like Bandwidth exceeded, some network delay and Video Loss Not with Lock

WOW ok found one of my notes from 2019 when I first had this issue,, It has moved in the 4.0 as before it was under General at least in the device I was working with at the time.. Now what I would double check is that your system isn't turned off for the view of them cameras. Maybe clicked on it by accident as it isn't' something easy to turn off but if it is all enabled then a Reset will be needed and that was the thing with my other machine they were all enabled and still got the Lock after like 6 months of use.. It wasn't like that always but for me there was a corruption of the software and might be because for me i was adding and changing things all the time and over time it just became a mess. Like it has been pointed that I am lol.. Anyway see the picture below, Arrow is where you want to click in your NVRs GUI under main menu, Then bottom click System. Then check if there is any unchecked channels for when the device is logged out.. If they are unchecked then check them and save then Apply..

So now I am going to share something that I also forgot.. If you happen to have your system setup for Employees or others that you want to make user access without some private cameras. Right now you can't because it will fail. That is because of the option above however if you want to remove lets say you have an office with 3 cameras. One on the safe, 2 on the Till counting stations and don't want the normal users to have them cameras. You uncheck them in the System and then you can remove them from the users group page so when you setup the users you can have it auto not have them cameras added and this makes it easier to setup user accounts.. With all the cameras picked under system it will say if you try to uncheck in the Group profile area for user that you can't because that user is in use.. That is because of the option in System.. Just thought I would add that for those that might read and find it useful/helpful.
