See photo. I did this a while ago. I really like the "face height" aspect of things but with nothing covering the camera from above, it takes the rain and snow full on, including "rain on camera lens".
Is this style pretty much the best I can do or is there a bracket that would provide more cover from the top somewhere?
I could cover the camera shown in the photo with some kind of plywood on top of the fence but I also don't want my fence to look too much like a kid's fort.
I have the same style fence on my back alley and Im thinking of moving another turret camera down to eye level again but in the alley Im a bit more worried someone will just start grabbing onto my camera or kicking it so I was gonna holesaw through one of the fenceboards and mount it on the yard side so the camera would be well hidden and secure. But back to the "kid's fort" thing, Id like to make the mounting look as good as possible on the yard side.
In that case I'd be mounting it right on a corner so it wouldn't look to bad to mitre cut some fenceboard at 45 degrees and hang the camera right on the inside.
But wondering if ipcamtalk has a "macgyver mounting" section where people shared their neatest ideas.
I might just holesaw the fence shown for this camera too but thought Id checkin before the wife starts asking questions like, "What did you do to the fence?"
