I assume you bought the G5 on eBay. That's where I bought a G4, and it came equipped with 2 DP ports also. Not wanting to go with an adapter like above, I searched and found out from the manual the optional port on the rear panel has an available HDMI board/port available. Again, I searched eBay for it, and found a used one for $10. Worked like a charm.
