Anyway to change the GUI to replace the tiny dots and the long triangles and replace them with classic looking navigation buttons?

I just purchased BI. It looks like the software has lots of potential and has lots of developer support but I'm having a tough time making sense of the interface which should be simple and intuitive.

As the title indicates, Is there anyway to get classic looking buttons on the GUI instead of tiny dots and really long and small triangles for navigation?
I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to click on the dots or in the spaces between them to adjust.
Will this be the interface going forward for a while?

Not clear what tiny dots you are referring to.
Read the getting started section of the built in help file.
It describes what the icons do.
Yes, that is the permanent interface .
Do you have the resolution set correctly for your monitor in the pc.

I believe he's talking about the controls on the playback screen.

Not that hard once you understand it. Center is pause. Dots to either side are 1/4 and 1/2 speed forward/back. Arrowhead is 1X forward/back. Slider is for faster forward/back from 2X-256X.
