finally got some free time to play with this camera, read the manual that came in the box and it has a static ip configured.
i don't have that subnet internally but it's used by the isp modem/router, no problem there. problem is that router doesn't have a poe port and i haven't got a spare poe switch to get this squared away.
so, i need to power it up with a barrel plug to get it initialized.
anyone know what volts, amp, and positive-negative orientation the plug ought to be?
i got some spare reolink plugs here 12v 1a (dunno which is positive and negative yet, have to check) but didn't want to risk damaging the device accidentally.
yeah, i checked on the empiretech product page as well, didn't see the barrel plug specs there.

appreciate some guidance here.

The 12 volt DC camera barrel connector: 5.5mm outside x 2.1mm inside
Should be positive ( + ) inside and negative ( - ) outside barrel.

Polarity of a power supply connector should be printed on a label affixed to it.

Specs say it pulls 4.3W @ 12VDC ( comes to less than .5 Amp) so one of your 1.0 Amp @ 12VDC power supplies should be OK IF center is positive and barrel outside is negative.
