I've only discovered some old posts about this so I apologize if this has been brought up recently.
I'm running BI with 7 Dahua cameras. I have pre-wired CAT6 to two locations in my home, stubbed out of the wall, with the intent of putting some type of security camera viewer touch screen at the location and using PoE to keep the "viewer device" at full charge. I don't need full fledge functionality; I just need to be able to see the 7 cameras or atleast automatically cycle through the 7 cameras and be able to touch to full screen any specific one as-needed. Another caveat is the device would need to have it's screen turn off while a human is not detected or the screen is not being touched. This sounds like a tall order for specialized equipment......
I was hoping that there would be some iPad or Android Galaxy setup and settings with specific wall-mounts with some type of adapters that will use PoE to keep the viewer device charged. I could, if absolutely necessary, run normal power outlet near the PoE/device location and do drywall repair to do this right.
I've also heard about people using Raspberry Pi with a 15" monitor that is mounted to a wall but that seems like it is more cluttered than a tablet/iPad mounted to the wall. I don't want cables everywhere but if that is the solution then maybe I can create a little cavity in the wall for the Pi, cables and buy a small touch screen HDMI monitor??
