I've only discovered some old posts about this so I apologize if this has been brought up recently.

I'm running BI with 7 Dahua cameras. I have pre-wired CAT6 to two locations in my home, stubbed out of the wall, with the intent of putting some type of security camera viewer touch screen at the location and using PoE to keep the "viewer device" at full charge. I don't need full fledge functionality; I just need to be able to see the 7 cameras or atleast automatically cycle through the 7 cameras and be able to touch to full screen any specific one as-needed. Another caveat is the device would need to have it's screen turn off while a human is not detected or the screen is not being touched. This sounds like a tall order for specialized equipment......

I was hoping that there would be some iPad or Android Galaxy setup and settings with specific wall-mounts with some type of adapters that will use PoE to keep the viewer device charged. I could, if absolutely necessary, run normal power outlet near the PoE/device location and do drywall repair to do this right.

I've also heard about people using Raspberry Pi with a 15" monitor that is mounted to a wall but that seems like it is more cluttered than a tablet/iPad mounted to the wall. I don't want cables everywhere but if that is the solution then maybe I can create a little cavity in the wall for the Pi, cables and buy a small touch screen HDMI monitor??

This is what I am using as a display for my home automatization since now 10 years. I am more an Android fan. But back in these days I decided for an used iPpad because it looked more "stylish" when mounted on the wall and I could find more good looking wall mounts for iPads. Noways you can find 3D printed frames cheaper solutions for all mains tram tablets. Just search for wall mount on eBay. Power connector in my wall mount is hidden in the frame. As power supply I use a industrial 5V power supply with USB port that placed inside the wall mount. The hole is covered by the tablet.

Just a link for reference

For my home automatization the tablet is running nothing than the app that is connecting to the home automatization server. For BI you either could run UI3 in a browser or use any other SW that can provided the vido strems. I guess there a multiple ways to reach this goal.

There are POE adapters that can be used to power tablets and other device. This is just the first example that came up in my Google search. It's not a recommendation, just an example of what is out there.
Similarly, there are companies like Vidabox that make wall mounts for various tablets, etc. This can make for a very clean look.
