Best way to search recordings by using smartpss? Can SMD or IVShelp to search somehow to get best user experience?

I installed a Dahua 60832-XI recorder and 5000-series cameras with IVS features for a customer.

The customer uses the system with the SmartPSS software, making the user experience challenging.

How could the customer most easily search for events in the recordings using the SmartPSS software? Should they use SMD? Or would it be beneficial to set, for example, intrusion zones for vehicles/people on the cameras? I mean, how can the best user experience be achieved with SmartPSS for searching through recordings? Is there any differences of using SMD vs IVS?

In case of SmartPSS (or DMSS) You can use Playback module...
and then select Record type to MD (for SMD) or Inteligent (for IVS)..
events will be shows on timeline..

If You want more/better functionality, this is only available over NVR web service or HDMI local interface..

Assuming the events are first setup in the NVR or cameras...

SmartPSS is a great Live Viewer and Playback software, full stop.. It should not be used to manage the NVR, cameras, or make setting changes on either.

Its pretty simple. Go to Playback and choose the time/day and which cameras you want to review.

Depending on the colors, IVS and MD/SMD events will show up as colored hash marks on the timeline.

Double clicking a window will open it full screen


There is also a list of recording on the right of the full screen to choose from



But as an installer you should already know most of this...
