BI and Code AI problems even though not maxing out resources

Hello,
I have a trial of BI running for now to determine if I want to purchase. I am not %100 on this software yet as the response from BI has been nill really and seems like basica camera control features are not there.

Nonetheless, whenever I install CODE.AI, my BI goes on the fritz and locks up and goes black when I click on a camera. Resources aren't even high.
Even trying to multitask and watch videos online like youtube while BI is running is causing my video to be choppy, again no real issue with resources.

I may upgrade the box a little, but I am running on a Lenovo ROG that while not decked out to the gills, is not terribly specced either.
I have an AMD Ryzen 5700G, 16GB of DDR4 ram, GTX 1660 Super GPU. 500GB SSD for primary OS drive with a 1TB spindle drive to offload things I dont need on my storage drive


Anything specific I should be looking for before deciding to just offload to a store bought DVR? I cannot even test anything more than basic functions at this point because I cannot control really anything useful with this software.

Have you read the built-in help file in Blue Iris?
If not, start there.
Important that you exclude Blue Iris from and any antivirus software as outlined in the Blue Iris help file.

I have not read through the 306 page document yet as I have not really even gotten anything working yet other than a glorified NAS really.
I guess I will start at administration and go from there. I was just kind of hoping that the bare bones turn on and run part would work decently before diving deep into it.
