Hi all,

Long time reader. Thank you all for the excellent information you provide on this forum. It has been tremendously helpful!!

So I setup a new system with 12 cameras with BI for my house. My friend really liked the system and wanted me to help him install a new system for his business (hotel).

We ended up running new cat 6 wires and are in the process of adding all the cameras. As of right now I've added 25 cameras to BI with approximately 10 left to wire. This was all installed on a brand new computer (specs below). Here are the symptoms we are experiencing:
  • Double clicking on active camera to pull up full screen is very slow
  • After double clicking on active camera (different ones) a few times it will just show a black screen
  • Restarting the camera will just drop the camera. It looks likes its restarting, however in about 10-15 seconds the camera will show no signal. Only way to correct this is to restart computer and open BI (BI is running as service)
  • I've installed Zerotier on the computer for remote viewing thru BI App. However, this is also very slow. Once signed into BI app it'll take almost 15-20 seconds for a camera to pull up. I tried opening the IP address of the cams in a browser when connected to Zerotier and I just get a black screen with the white circle which never loads any camera (it looks like it logs in on the web interface but just doesn't pull up any camera)
The computer specs are:

13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700
64GB Ram
14TB Western Digital Purple Drive HDD
GeForce RTX 4060Ti Graphics Card

All cameras are Dahua cameras purchased directly from Andy. All cameras are connected directly to one of two daisy chained Netgear 24 Port Gigabit POE+ switches. The BI computer is also connected to one of these two switches. All cameras are setup for substreams, audio and to record continuous plus triggers (seeing a lot of triggers already because of all the activity inside the building). Just for trouble shooting I've turned off windows defender and firewall. No other anti-virus programs running on computer.

Attached is the cameras tab of the status screen.

Try switching the cameras to H264 and don't use any of the smart codec.

Is Windows, Blue Iris and BI's "db" folder on a SSD? You mention only the WD Purple HDD for BI video clips.

Try lowering the frame rate to 15 frames per second and set the i frame interval to the same value.

Make sure substreams have the save frames per second as the main stream and I frame the same as the Frames per second.
