BI Night Recording Question

I'm new to this forum and just getting into IP cameras at my home. My setup is 3 Amcrest Qcam 3mp 1080P cameras, a custom 4ghz i7 quadcore precessor PC with 16 GB of ram. During daylight recording everything works great, I'm having some issues at night. There are 2 strange things going on, everything that is recorded in IR plays back in fast forward. Even tho I'm playing the recording at normal speed it plays back like its at 2X. The other thing that happens might be related to the first, night recordings tend to freeze for a few seconds periodically. The strange thing is that I can sit at my PC and watch what is being recorded on the live stream through BI and everything looks normal, the video is not freezing or playing at a faster speed. Any help would be appreciated...

try disabling the 'use rtsp stream timestamp' (or somesuch) checkbox in the BI cam's/video page ?

also, how are you powering the cams? direct dc wall-wort or PoE? if the latter make sure it's
getting enough power. At night with IR on, power requirements go up...

I will try disabling the checkbox this evening and test it out. Fingers crossed this will be a simple fix, would this setting be under each camera or the main setting for everything? Since I can watch the live stream as its recording and everything looks normal makes me think its a setting in BI. I have been wrong before tho...

I'm powering them through PEO with a Netgear switch.

ok, probably not a power issue. but yeah, find the "use rtsp/stream timecode' checkbox
in each cam's video/configure... dialog box (click the button right of the ip address).

pozzello, this fixed my issue. Just out of curiosity what does the option turn on or off?

Thanks for the quick response and help.

i think the cam inserts some sort of timecode into the stream, and sometimes the cams just get it wrong.
unchecking this tells BI to ignore the timestamp in the stream and just use it's own clock.

maybe. i just made that up. :-) but it'e been recommended here before. glad it worked for you.

I have Amcrest HD Pro IP2M-841W camera that was having the same problem. Disabling "RTSP/Stream timestamp, fixed it. Thank you, very much!
