It's getting over but what did you find for deals? Links if they're still available?

Cams, illuminators, Blue Iris boxes, hard drives, switches?

I didn't see too much that excited me. Nelly's had some good deals on a few things. Wrightwood was 10% off. I didn't see great sales on big platter drives. A few really good "flash" sales on SSDs that sold out quickly.

This is all I bought for "Black Friday". FLIR TCX Thermal IP camera. I finally ordered one. It is still available at the same price, but not exactly on top of anyone's priority list. This is more a toy than anything else.

I would have picked up an 8 TB purple drive if I had found one on sale, but I didn't.

Most of the really good deals are in such short supply that you just about have to know about them in advance and practice the checkout process beforehand just to have a chance at them.

There used to be one that was easily hacked to be 640x480. Wonder what the odds are that that one also has that feature?

Unfortunately it is impossible to hack a higher resolution onto a camera like that. You are probably thinking of the "Flir One" smartphone addon which uses a very low resolution thermal imager along with a 640x480 visible light camera, and blends the images from both cameras together to create a 640x480 output.

One thing that does bother me about the FLIR TCX is how they advertise an 80x45 resolution even though I'm pretty sure they used an 80x60 pixel Lepton sensor in the camera. I can't imagine why they would voluntarily leave 1/4 of the pixels unused on such a low resolution sensor, so maybe this is just a special 16:9 version of the Lepton sensor.

No, I don't think that was it but I might be wrong. The hack I was thinking about was from quite a while ago. IIRC, something simple internally because they charged more for the hires version but simplified the production down to basically one cam. I didn't pay much attention because I wasn't in the market but it WAS interesting.
