I just got a BI news email talking about their new eCommerce providers. They also mentioned BI 6.0 "Looking forward to 6.0!" No timeline mentioned. Am I behind on the news or is this recent?

Since you would get 1 year of free upgrades with the purchase of the license and It says in the recent email about version 6 that anyone with "Active maintenance" will get Version 6. I would say that you would get the upgrade any time in the first year of purchase, after that you would have to purchase the extended support to upgrade to Version 6

If I buy the current version today and 6.0 comes out next month, would I get a free upgrade?
From the notification email:

Blue Iris has never held back on new functionality over the years and has offered frequent updates. A transition to "6.0" however offers us an opportunity to freshen the UI, update core code libraries, and offer expanding functionality into both AI and home automation. Active maintenance is all you need to continue with us into the future.
Emphasis mine.

Kudos to BI for this policy. So many other companies use a major version as an excuse to charge extra.

Anyone have any wild guesses on what 6.0 will include?

It won't, but if they could make it support high availability, I would lose it

I get that but the app is a separate purchase. For example my BI maintenance updates expired January 2025. But my iPhone app will still get updates if they push them I believe.
Ah, got it. By "the app" you mean "the mobile app" and not "the PC app."

edit: I almost never use the mobile app any more. UI3 on Chrome on iPhone works better for me for just about all tasks.

when will it be available I am already on version 5.9.9.9.9.9.9.9.9.99
