blue iris for android phone, how to

can`t get it to work . it won`t connect.
More info needed.

Is this when you're on your home LAN or on cell away from home (WAN) or both?

Did you create a new server on app, put in server username/password, put in LAN IP and port, put in WAN IP or hostname and port, then save?

Have you set up UI3? If so, you should just be able to put the ip address of your BI server in a browser on your phone with the BI port at the end of the ip address, usually port 81.

If your BI server ip address were 192.168.1.10, then you’d pull up a browser window on the phone and type in- 192.168.1.10:81. When it connects, you’ll have the UI3 showing your cameras.

To connect remotely by phone, set up Tailscale or a similar VPN service. Do some searching here for how to advice.

That is a paid VPN service that only masks your outgoing data, does nothing to protect your incoming. You want something like OpenVPN or Wireguard server installed on your router then use matching client on your phone.

Try it w/o vpn first. Start with the simplest setup possible, then get complex.

Can you pull up your router gui from your phone? Start with that. If you can, you should be able to see your bi computer connected to the router. If you can’t, you may be on a different ip subnet.
