Hardware
1) CPU: i7 12 gen
2) GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX3050
3) RAM: 64 GB
4) Storage:
1) 3 x 12TB Seagate IronWolf HDD (total of 32 TB)
- All are merged into one drive as Dynamic Disk
2) Windows is on m.2 drive

Cameras
  • 11 x Lorex LNE9252B
  • 22 x Hikvision (IDK Model number)
  • 1 x Lorex LNZ44P12B

Changes I made
Everything worked fine until I made these changes in one day. Unsure if this matters and unsure if this can be my cause
(I realize I should have done one change at a time)
1) I added a new 12 TB HDD and re-formatted the drives
2) Upgraded from Win 10 to 11
3) Upgraded Blue Iris as well to 5.9.9.25

Settings
  • Sub streams are on
  • CPU is @ 25 - 30%
  • GPU Jumps all over the place 50 to 90%
  • See the pictures for more details

Problem
1) My cameras will go offline
2) Videos in recordings are choppy and skip seconds or even minutes when in playback
3) The live stream will have a significant delay, like in mins
4) Unsure if this matters, but the time stamps will not match up between Blue Iris and camera time

Background
  • I have replaced my Cat 5e wire, Also I know it can handle this since I have an old NVR handing 32 cameras, and there's no delay
  • I have never had an issue like this until I did those changes
  • I have a GPU since I have many cameras

Thanks in advance

Have you performed all the steps outlined HERE, including the excluding of Blue Iris from any antivirus as per the BI help?

Up the receive buffer on the IP config page for each cam to 40mb.

Do you have all cameras connected to the same POE switch, then have the BI computer connected to that same POE switch?

Then from that POE switch do you have a cable running to your router?
The point of all this is to make sure you are not running any of the camera data through the router.

Some random ideas.

Combining 3 drives in to one probably isn't ideal. Better to have 3 separate drives and the cameras spread among them so when one goes out, you don't have issues.

Is it showing it can't write fast enough in the logs?

Make sure the update to Win11 didn't include BI and video in the virus scan. They should be excluded.

Roll back to a stable BI version.

Have you tried to uncheck the force size box?
On IP cameras it can really slow you down.

Then roll back to a known good ver of BI
