I have a network setup at my family's property ( not my residence ) with Blueiris on an Elitedesk 800 G4 SFF and Dahua Cams. The ISP supplied router doesn't have VPN.
I wanted it to have the ability to be viewable on a local device or non local device so I set it up with Zerotier. I got it to work and I'm happy with it.
Locally we use UI3 and for non-local UI3 via Zerotier.
My dad has the UI3 bookmarked on his tablet so its easy for him.

My concern though now is cams phoning home and or someone out there hacking into the cams.
I'm aware of the dual-NIC but I'm afraid of making it complicated adding another step to get to UI3 ( Teamviewer? )
Below is my network.
What should I do to address my security concern but keep it easy for family to access.

Set it up like below. Install 2nd NIC on BI PC. Move your POE switch to the 2nd NIC on the BI PC. Do not connect the POE switch to the ISP supplied router. Connect the 1st NIC from the BI PC to the ISP supplied router.

No other changes need to be made and your current calls to UI3 will still work, including the ZreoTier access. This is how I use ZeroTier.
