Trying to help someone out with thier lorex dvr. They had a lighning strike and after one camera was no longer working. The power supply for the cameras is one unit with 4 pigtails all other cameras are working so he replace the camera with one that is compatible with
TVI/CVI/AHD/960H CVBS. I believe this lorex DVR is CVBS so I assume it should be compatible yet he was not able to get it to work. He also stated he lost the password for the DVR ( in the process of recovering that now) so I'm not sure if there is a setting in there that needs to be changed or if the 3rd party camera has to be manually added.
I guess my question is.. Does lorex typically lock out 3rd party cameras and if both camera and DVR support the same protocol CVBS shouldnt they work?
