House has a HGRX45 DVR with 2 cams. However, I know it is discontinued and as the device is registered to the prior owner, I cannot get any mobile app functionality from the unit due to this, even though I've been able to setup everything else.
If I purchase and configure a new DVR, will I be able to use the unit with the mobile app? Everything I've experienced over the past week with Honeywell is them trying to jam contractor usage down my throat, even though the hardware is pretty easy to configure. I believe their new app is Total Connect 2, however I'm not sure if I can register without a contractor.
