Can we use combination of Media Converter and SFP

Can we use Media Converter at Uplink and SFP at Downlink?

I have connected Media Converter (without SFP) and SFP at other end.. this combination didn't work. i didn't understand why, coz, objective of both Media Converter and SFP are the same converting digital signal to optical vise versa.

Some SFP ports are 1 GbE only, and almost no cameras are that fast. Obviously one needs to power the camera separately.

Yes, I have run SFP/LC over multimode fiber from my house to a TPLink 1000Base-SX SC to 1000Base-T media converter in my detached garage without any issues.

If I had to do it all over again I would do LC and SFP on both ends.
