Yes
I need to upgrade the firmware of a Dahua NVR but i can't access any configurations in Smart PSS, when i try to, a pop-up message says I don't have the permissions or something like that.

Is there any different way to upgrade the firmware, or is there something i can do to access the configurations? It probably has to do something with permissions that were assigned by other profile but i still prefer to ask

Beforehand, thanks, and i apologize since i'm quite new to this topic

For a firmware upgrade I'd strongly suggest doing it via the NVR's web interface, or via a memory stick plugged into the NVR. Another recommendation is to not upgrade unless there's a known bug fix or feature you want or need. Even though I'm a smartPSS user, I don't know if there's even the capability to do firmware upgrade with it.

Thank you, i'll try to upgrade it via web interface and i'll keep in mind your advice.

The main problem is, there's like 8 cameras and all of them are working just fine, all of them have saved recordings, except for one, if i go to the playback tab to and select that one camera to see its recordings, a pop-up message will say "Camera has no recordings!". Have you faced or seen this problem? What could be causing it?

By the way, thank you for replying!

Change the date in Smart PSS that you're trying to view saved video from to a more recent date and see if there's recorded video. If not then check your NVR record settings for that particular camera since it may not be set up properly to record video. When you do a firmware update on an NVR there's always a risk that is will get bricked if the update fails, so it's best to rule out everything else and double check all the settings first before deciding to update NVR firmware, assuming an update is even available.

THIS

There's very little chance FW has anything to do with 1 camera not having recordings.
Make all changes on the cameras themselves and the Record/Storage tabs on the NVR for that.

Advice:
SmartPSS is a great Live Viewer, good for reviewing footage and downloading clips. Stop there. Do everything else on the actual device

+1 above.

What model NVR do you have - perhaps you are exceeding the bandwidth capability of the NVR and that is why the 9th camera isn't working properly?

Or the power output....

Ive noticed that exceeded bandwidth produces mixed results as to what camera fails or comes and goes. With the watts of power output, it clearly shuts down cameras starting from the last port and until it gets back to good on power.
