Hi Guys, Just picked up a
EmpireTech PTZ4M-25X-PV 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight IR
camera and for the life of me I cant turn off auto tracking... Videos, google, Andy`s video on the camera, I`m at my wits end.. Right out of the box, after a reset, Autotracking is on. Event config, smart motion, AI settings, ptz settings, no luck....

Did you login to the camera itslef? Or are you trying to do it from the NVR interface?

You need to login directly to the camera GUI for ALL setting changes. Dont make them in the NVFR

I dont have that exact PTZ but assume its like others
Look on the AI/IVS tab. Each rule has a button to enable Autotracking

Should be under AI Not Event or SMD

According to that screenshot you haven't gone far enough yet.

You need to create a preset then add preset and then select IVS

And don't use Chrome. Use Edge with IE tab or IE.

Ok, Using Edge.. yuk Found IVS... This camera is nothing like the 5 others I have... . Not a clue what I`m doing with this one.. All I want is the thing to stay where I point it, and trigger via motion. Basically a glorified critter cam with PTZ so I can watch the critters in the yard. Bears, Wolves, Coons, etc.. :)

The two big BLUE buttons are key

So you have a preset #1 defined, thats its home.
Now draw IVS lines/rules where you want motion activated. A target has to cross a line to activate tracking, so a long zig zag line back and forth might be a good start

I'm not certain if that camera has Animal detection. It may just give you Human or Vehicle.

If so, you'll be resigned to using dumb 20 year old Motion Detection (MD) that will give you a bazillion false alerts

If you've never setup IVS or configured a PTZ before, you may want to do some reading and study up a bit first.
