I've bought one of those cheap XiongMai NVRs based on Hi3536.
Unfortunately the UI doesn't allow me to add RTSP streams. It supports ONVIF or NETIP (whatever that is). I'm aware ONVIF is just a mechanism to control the camera eg. obtain RTSP url so all the bits required to play RTSP streams must be there,. I just assumed the software would therefore allow to add generic RTSP streams as i've seen on a similar device by ESCAM. However it seems all NVRs based on this design only support ONVIF and none provide the option to manually add RTSP streams.
The SDK for this SoC can be found online but I haven't found any source code of NVR applications yet. It should be trivial to add support for RTSP if the sources would be available and build a custom firmware.
