Choose reolink replacement for front porch

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum, but have been reading for several months now.

I have two Reolink RLC-810A I would like to replace, the night footage is not so good and periodically I get gray frames in the main stream. They don't show up on the preview, but the recorded main stream is filled with glitches. I have read some extensive posts here and will admit that I have been victim of the megapixel mania by going to a 4K camera.

The two cameras I want to replace, are placed on opposing sides of the porch ceiling in order to cover the front deck and fence that runs along the property. They're about 6m apart, and the fence is about 18m long. The deck is probably about 4m wide.

I'm not very knowledgeable about lenses, sensors and so on, but from all the reading I gathered that a 2MP camera will outperform a 4K at night particularly for moving objects. It's not so easy to find reputable sellers/cameras in Europe and I'm wondering if the Dahua IPC-HFW2231T-ZS will be a good choice for this application. Given the geometry, will this suffice for identification? If it's not a good candidate, could you suggest another one? My current budget is somewhere between 100-150e/camera.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that table! After playing around with some tools, in order to have my covered area in the Recognize/Identify zones I see I need a focal length between 6-8 mm. That is with a 2MP and 1/2.8" sensor. Seeing the praise varifocal cameras get and that these focal lengths aren't the most commonly available in my area I think I'll go for a varifocal one.

The HFW2241T seems to check all my boxes. 2MP with appropriate size sensor, IR, mic, Starlight and varifocal. It's sensibly priced around 130€.

Does that seem like a decent option? This time around I'm trying to do my research to avoid throwing money down the toilet like I did with the Reolinks, however my experience is limited so any feedback will be valuable!

Personally I would go with the 54IR-ZE if you have the money. Not too much more and it will be far superior. While the 2241 is on an ideal MP/sensor ratio and would perform better than say 4MP or 8MP on the same sensor, there is a big jump in low light performance between the 1/2.8" and 1/1.8" sensor.

It is a Dahua International OEM sold by trusted member @EMPIRETECANDY here and he has a sale going on right now via his website and Amazon store. Currently $180USD

Is there a bullet model? My junction box is rather small (PFA 134) and would make things easier if I didn't have to replace them with PFA137 to fit a turret.

Can't I just bolt the camera directly onto the box? without the cover. Diameters line up just fine. In fact, there are two sets of holes machined inside, hinting at possibly multiple mount options?
