I got the IPC-HDW5231R-Z from Andy and hooked it up, logged into the interface but it wants a plug-in. Got the plug-in but still asks me for it and shows no image.
I'm sure this is something simple right?

Anybody with a fix?

Cheers, Pete

You're not alone. We all have dealt with this plugin issue one way or another. I suggest installing the add-on for Internet Explorer, and view with internet explorer. You can also try Mozilla Firefox or install an extension for Google Chrome called IE Tab. Make sure to install the extension / add-on / plug-in for camera interface first.

Note: This is not really a fix. Much of these solutions are temporary until future security patches are made. Clearly, these camera manufacturers need to revamp the way they allow us to login to view the cameras.

The web browser called Pale Moon works as well for IP cameras as Chrome or Firefox ever did, before they started dropping support for plugins.

Same with Pale Moon!

Why is this so hard?
I can access the camera and all the setting but get no picture. GRRRRRRRRR!

+1 on Pale Moon. I have it installed just for my ip cameras and use chrome for everything else

Sounds like it is the fault of your antivirus and you need to figure out how to make it exclude the plugin from its scans.

So I got the NCAL web plugin through chrome working. It seems like a stand alone app but you start it in chrome.
What I'm wondering is if this will work via a VPN?
That is my next task to see how this all combines and works.

I'll tell you what all of this stuff is so "out there" with no clear description of how to go about any of this stuff. I mean from the very simple standpoint.
There is lots of very technical stuff on this website but so much is talked about from people who just expect you to know the simple stuff. No wonder most people go and purchase a kit from Costco and then leave the network open to hacking because they just leave it as setup by the recorder.

When I get this done in a few weeks I'm gonna write the stupid answers out for dumba$$'s like myself :-)

You could also try this in chrome. NACL Web Plug-in

I don't know why it works this way, but you have to open the plugin through chrome's apps list and enter the camera's address into the plugin. You don't just load the camera's web interface in a normal Chrome window.

So I have the plugin for chrome working and two of the cameras working. Model IPC-HDW5231R-Z
I purchased them through Andy and it was FAST!
The cameras are AWESOME and night images are like WOW. As good or better than I expected.
I'll do a complete review and some tips once done.

Thanks again Andy!!
