Connecting HIKVISION NVR DS-7608NI-Q2/8P with AXIS cameras

Good afternoon. I am new to this forum and have been reading a lot of the posts. Looking to learn and gain new knowledge. That being said, I recently purchased the HIKVISION POE NVR to connect with several AXIS cameras. Unfortunately, the NVR is not able to connect with them. I know the AXIS cameras work because I downloaded the AXIS Device Manager and Camera Station. I even reset the AXIS cameras. They work fine and can see the live video.

Here is what I have done with no results:

1. Changed the protocol from ONVIF to AXIS to IP Camera and nothing.
2. Inputted the IP address AXIS identified
3. Changed the management ports from 80 to 8000 and vice versa
4. Added the main stream path (using the AXIS IP address)

All of these steps described above have resulted with the following messages: "Unknown error" or "The network is unreachable."

Ran out of options here. Can someone provide some guidance for this rookie?
