Connecting remote monitor

G'day all,
Recently purchased a house with alarm system set up , 4 cameras run thru a dahua NVR 4104. I can connect a remote monitor directly to the rear using the HDMI port and the monitor works fine, good clear picture on all 4 cameras. I wish to move the monitor to a different spot which it was in previously and there are Ethernet cables running from where the recorder is to where the monitor is going to be located. I purchased HDMI cat5e/cat6 engenders but the monitor won't read when connected. I tried using a short 1m lead directly where the recorder is and it still won't work..my thinking was a damaged cable but this should rule that out.. plug the HDMI lead back in and it works fine.
I'm thinking I have a setting wrong but can't see how when it works directly from the HDMI cable.
Thanks and cheers Bulletman

I have a setup similar to this, just with a different brand of transceiver, and it works fine. Any chance you swapped the send and receive boxes?

I thought of that , I tried to swap them around and still the same.. I'm thinking the monitor needs a different setting or something basic like that

Says 1080p Is your monitor 1080p?

Duh, right. More coffee

I did see an old post where the devices assign an IP themselves, I wonder if they have an interface for settings?

I'm not tech savvy enough to know so I'm just stumbling thru things and hopefully it will prove to be something simple that I am doing wrong

Link to the hardware in use would be helpful for the members to review and troubleshoot.

So the recorder is NOT 4104P. The monitor is a 24 inch LG which if I connect direct to the recorder via HDMI cable the monitor works showing all4 cameras or singular if you click on the menu. I purchased a Digitech AC- 1783 which is 50mtr HDMI Cat5e/Cat6 extender with pass thru on the transmitter. Once I connect the HDMI into the transmitter I can't get the monitor to work using either the HDMI pass thru with another HDMI lead or via an Ethernet cable to the receiver. I have tried the existing cable that goes from the recorder into a separate room but also using a short 1 mtr cable .
I am not very tech savvy but my thoughts are is it possible the recorder is set on 720p and it doesn't link to the 1080p extenders..

Should say NVT 4104P

Yes that is the same as what I'm using, a differentbrand but the same set up.
HDMI over ethernet devices can be tricky and depend heavily on your cabling and the topology of how they're connected.

Some actually work over IP and may function if you have a switch or two between the devices.
Others don't function like conventional ethernet and only work with a direct connection between the two nodes some even use multiple cables. Shielded Cat-6 cable be be needed to make this type function.

Try a different / shorter cable with both nodes in the same room and post a link to what you bought.

That's not a particularly high end NVR so this may not work wonderfully (due to the total network bandwidth it can handle), but you can also view the cameras using something like a Fire TV stick or chromecast and either the Dahua app or TinyCam Pro.

Have you tried the EDID switch on the transmitter and/or different equalizer switch settings on the receiver as mentioned in the User Manual (attached below) ?

EDIT: have you tested all cables involved? It says x-over cables will not work, so both ends must be wired T-568B or both T-568A, cannot be different.
